Korea is one of Japan's closest neighbors and is increasingly becoming very popular with the younger generation. Many young people (from junior high school and up) in Japan can say they enjoy watching Korean drama TV shows and admire Korea's top actors and singers. Also, Korea is a popular weekend destination for many Japanese people with packages usually starting at around 20,000 Japanese Yen during a very good seat-sale. Trips from Fukuoka to Pusan are also possible via a very fast hydrofoil powered cruise ship that will get you there in about 2 hours. Head out in the morning and you'll be eating 'yaki-niku' or Korean BBQ for lunch. Yummmy!

Located east of the Taiwan Straght and southwest of Japan, Taiwan is separated by 180 km to the mainland asian continent. It is a mountainous island and is covered by tropical and subtropical vegitation. One of Taiwan's greatest attraction is the National Palace Museum which is considered to have one of the greatest collections of Chinese art objects in the world (and ranked as one of the world's top five museums). The collection was moved from the Forbidden City in Beijing in 1949 when that governement, the KMT at the time, fled to Taiwan. Many popular activities in this country include baseball, basketball, karaoke, drinking milk tea and that delicious "bubble tea" at many local shops around town.
